Ant-Based Clustering and Topographic Mapping
Ant-based clustering and sorting is a nature-inspired heuristic first introduced as a model for explaining two types of emergent behavior observed in real ant colonies. More recently, it has been applied in a data-mining context to perform both clustering and topographic mapping. Early work demonstrated some promising characteristics of the heuristic but did not extend to a rigorous investigati...
متن کاملA Document of Ant Clustering By the Result of Topographic Mapping Intention
The clustering and topographic mapping is a motivated model for explaining two types of developing behavior observed in real ant colonies. Existing work demonstrated some promising characteristics of the heuristic but did not extend to a rigorous investigation of its capabilities. We are using an Improved Technique called ATTA includes adaptive, heterogeneous ants, a time-dependent transporting...
متن کاملFuzzy Ant Based Clustering
Various clustering methods based on the behaviour of real ants have been proposed. In this paper, we develop a new algorithm in which the behaviour of the artificial ants is governed by fuzzy IF–THEN rules. Our algorithm is conceptually simple, robust and easy to use due to observed dataset independence of the parameter values involved.
متن کاملAnt-Based Document Clustering and Visualization
This paper discusses the document clustering and visualization process: analyzing documents index, clustering document, and visualizing exploration. It focuses on ant-based clustering algorithm and some significant improvements. Clusterings are formed on the plane by ants walking, picking up or dropping down projected document vectors with different probability. It is shown that the similar doc...
متن کاملSimplifying and improving ant-based clustering
Ant-based clustering (ABC) is a data clustering approach inspired from cemetery formation activities observed in real ant colonies. Building upon the premise of collective intelligence, such an approach uses multiple ant-like agents and a mixture of heuristics, in order to create systems that are capable of clustering real-world data. Many recently proposed ABC systems have shown competitive re...
